RANDALSTOWN, CO. ANTRIM

Randalstown is located between the towns of Antrim and Toome in Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland.  The images above show the main road entering Randalstown from the bridge across the river Maine.

At the lower left of the picture, close to the river Maine, there is a row of six two-storey estate cottages built in the late 19th century on the site of the barracks of the Antrim Regiment of Militia called The Parade Ground. The Baron's paternal grandfather and some relatives worked in the Irish linen industry here in Randalstown.
