EACA Video Genie 1
David Ayre began programming in 1979 with a Video Genie 1, the Hong Kong version of the Tandy TRS-80 Model1. When a DOS, four 5" drives and an ex-GPO 300 Baud modem monstrosity were added in 1981, he started the Orkney Forum 80 bulletin board with necessary and very kind assistance from Frederick Brown of Hull. The later Video Genie 2 model became the testbed to master the art of interfacing with instrumentation, simulating programmable controllers, and learning the basics of the APL notation language.
After being introduced to the internet at Lancaster University his first commercial website was launched in 1996. Here are a few examples of his work:
